On the migration of youngsters’ Internet access from school computers to personal mobile phones and their change in the use of the Internet

Despite the increasing home and mobile broadband Internet access, making the use of the Internet to become ubiquitous in students' lives, the availability of computers for students in schools has been drastically reduced since 2010 and the migration of students' Internet access to smartphones did not occur within schools, where its use is prohibited.

Most importantly than the migration of students' Internet access from computers to personal mobile devices, however, there was also a significant qualitative replacement in that process outside of school, namely in the finality of the Internet access, with a vast predominance of entertainment activities over 'doing homework'.

This dataset contains data on:
- Computers installed by school place by region in Brazil from 2010 to 2013 (file computersInSchoolByPlace.csv),
- Households with Internet access by region in Brazil from 2006 to 2017 (file householdsInternetAccessByRegion.csv)
- Youngsters (11-17 years old) Internet access by device and region in Brazil from 2012 to 2015 (file youngstersInternetAccessByDevice.csv)
- Most frequent location of youngster individual access to the internet, by region in Brazil from 2008 to 2015 (file youngstersInternetAccessByPlace.csv)
- Households with Internet access by social class in Brazil from 2006 to 2017 (file householdsInternetAccessByClass.csv)
- Youngsters’ (11-17 years old) use of the Internet by activity, by region in Brazil from 2012 to 2015 (file youngstersInternetAccessByActivity.csv)

尽管家庭与移动宽带互联网的普及率持续攀升，令互联网在学生生活中已无所不在，但自2010年起，面向学生的校内计算机配置数量却大幅缩减；且学生将互联网使用迁移至智能手机的行为并未在校内出现——校内禁止使用智能手机。

相较于学生将互联网使用从计算机转向个人移动设备这一变化，更为关键的是，校外场景中的该过程还出现了显著的质性转向：即互联网使用的核心目的发生更替，娱乐类活动的占比远超"完成作业"。
