Vegetative Properties of Danby Woods Grasslands

Observations were made in the grasslands of Danby Woods on the York University Keele Campus. A 1m by 1m quadrat was placed directly on the ground at random and the floral and vegatative contents of the quadrat were analyzed. Data recorded included nomenclature of species present in the quadrat,species richness, individual species abundance and area coverage. 20 samples were taken for this dataset. Leaf and flower petal samples were taken from ambiguous species to confirm that the accuracy of binomial classifications they were categorized under. Graminoids were excluded from recorded species as they were present in abundance in all samples taken.本数据集的野外观测工作开展于约克大学基尔校区的丹比林地草原生境。随机在地表布设1m×1m的样方（quadrat），对样方内的植物花部与营养体组成开展分析。记录的数据包括样方内出现物种的命名信息、物种丰富度、单物种个体多度及面积盖度。本次数据集共采集20份样本。针对分类存疑的物种，采集其叶片与花瓣样本，以验证其所归属的双名法分类的准确性。由于所有采样样方中均大量分布禾本科类植物（graminoids），故未将其纳入记录物种的范畴。
