Dataset of the large branchiopods (Branchiopoda: Anostraca, Notostraca, Laevicaudata, Spinicaudata, Cyclestherida) of India

Large branchiopods are an ancient group of crustacean invertebrates known for their role as 'flagship' species in temporary habitats. With records of only 10% of the total world fauna in India, further studies are needed. We obtained 581 primary and secondary records from India, with 13 families, 15 genera, and 46 valid species from all five orders (Anostraca, Notostraca, Laevicaudata, Spinicaudata, and Cyclestherida). Every record has a valid scientific name, location name, coordinate data, year of collection, water body type, and other important information. We present data from our own collection as well as secondary data from 1859 onwards.大型鳃足类（Large branchiopods）是一类古老的甲壳类无脊椎动物，作为临时生境中的“旗舰”物种而备受瞩目。目前印度仅记录到全球该类群总区系的10%，仍需开展进一步研究。 我们从印度境内共获取581条一手及二手记录，涵盖全部5个目：无甲目（Anostraca）、背甲目（Notostraca）、滑蚌壳虫目（Laevicaudata）、棘蚌壳虫目（Spinicaudata）以及圆蚌壳虫目（Cyclestherida），涉及13个科、15个属及46个有效物种。每条记录均包含有效学名、采样地点信息、坐标数据、采样年份、水体类型等关键信息。本数据集涵盖自主采集数据与1859年以来的二手文献数据。
