Sitting Woman from a Temple Pediment

Monte Compatri/Tusculum (Italy), acquired in 1893Marble, 440 - 430 BC The statue is part of a group of unusually small-scale pediment sculptures, of which a running girl, a kneeling man and a helmeted female head came to the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen. It cannot be safely determined any more in which activity the seated woman was once engaged. This object is part of Scan The World.
