Periphyton, seston, and phytoplankton collection (DP1.20166.001)

This data product contains the quality-controlled, native sampling resolution data from NEON's aquatic periphyton and phytoplankton collection and field metadata, as well as associated taxonomic, and enumeration data provided by contracted labs. Benthic and water column field samples are collected in wadeable streams, rivers, and lakes three times per year during the growing season. Samples are separated into aliquots for taxonomic analysis at the domain support facility (preserved in glutaraldehyde or Lugol's iodine) for shipment to a external facilities, or filtered onto glass-fiber filters for biomass (ash-free dry mass). 本数据产品包含经质量管控的原生采样分辨率数据，源自美国国家生态观测网络（NEON）的水生周丛生物（periphyton）与浮游藻类（phytoplankton）采集项目及野外元数据，同时涵盖签约实验室提供的相关分类学与计数数据。底栖野外样本与水柱野外样本于生长季每年在可涉水溪流、河流及湖泊中采集三次。样本被分装为若干分样：一部分经戊二醛或卢戈氏碘液固定后，送至领域支持设施开展分类学分析并运往外部机构；另一部分则过滤至玻璃纤维滤膜上，用于生物量（无灰干重）测定。如需更多细节，请参阅本数据产品详情网页的文档部分所列的用户指南、实验方案、科学设计及实验室标准操作流程。
