This study was conducted as part of the Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center on Technologies to Support Aging among People with Long-Term Disabilities (RERC TechSAge). The Aging Concerns, Challenges, and Everyday Solutions (ACCESS) project, a mixed-methods investigation into the daily challenges faced by individuals aging with long-term disabilities. Participants completed questionnaires and a structured interview exploring the nature and distribution of challenges with activities at home and in the community, as well as their response strategies to manage these challenges. ACCESS data are being used to develop a taxonomy of everyday support needs and provide guidance for the design of supportive technologies for this understudied population. The current dataset is for phase 2 of the ACCESS study (N=180) which focused on three target populations: (1) individuals who are late-deafened and use English as their primary language; (2) individuals with multiple sclerosis (MS); and (3) individuals with vision loss (due to macular degeneration or glaucoma). There were 60 individuals in each group.
(Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center on Technologies to Support Aging among People with Long-Term Disabilities,缩写为RERC TechSAge)的相关研究工作。
