The Nortek Aquadopp Profiler AQP5431 AQD8398 was deployed on 2014-10-10 at Juan de Fuca Strait. Juan de Fuca Strait is a large body of water that connects the Salish Sea to the Pacific Ocean. This device is a Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler 2 MHz. Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers are hydroacoustic instruments, similar to sonars. ADCPs measure current speed and direction at multiple predetermined depths simultaneously. ADCPs use the Doppler effect of sound waves that are scattered by particles in seawater over a depth range. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 3.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.
诺泰克(Nortek)Aquadopp剖面仪AQP5431与AQD8398于2014年10月10日在胡安德富卡海峡(Juan de Fuca Strait)完成布放。胡安德富卡海峡为连通萨利希海与太平洋的大型海域。该设备为2MHz声学多普勒海流剖面仪(Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler,ADCP),属于水声探测仪器,工作原理与声呐相仿。ADCP可同时测量多个预设深度处的海流流速与流向,其通过利用海水颗粒散射声波产生的多普勒效应,实现指定深度范围内的海流参数监测。本次布放搭载于固定式平台。本次布放获取的数据已完成归档,并通过加拿大海洋网络(Ocean Networks Canada)的Oceans 3.0数字基础设施对外公开共享,所有数据均遵循既定规范完成质量管控,并衍生出配套数据产品。
