US Hydropower Potential from Existing Non-powered Dams (greater than 1MW)

The US Department of Energy (DOE) Water Power Program has assessed the National Inventory of Dams (NID) to evaluate the potential of additional hydropower from non-powered dams (NPDs) that could contribute to the amount of renewable energy available across the nation. Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), with input from the Idaho National Laboratory (INL), executed a technical analysis and identified 54,000 NPDs in this hydropower resource assessment effort.美国能源部（US Department of Energy, DOE）水电项目对国家大坝名录（National Inventory of Dams, NID）开展评估，旨在测算可用于补充全国可再生能源总量的非发电大坝（non-powered dams, NPDs）潜在额外水电产能。橡树岭国家实验室（Oak Ridge National Laboratory, ORNL）在爱达荷国家实验室（Idaho National Laboratory, INL）的技术支持下，完成了本次水电资源评估工作中的技术分析，并识别出54000座非发电大坝。
