Biocontrol, the process of inhibiting pathogens through living organisms, represents a promising strategy due to its potential to replace chemical pesticides and support eco-friendly plant growth. With increasing concerns regarding the harmful effects of chemical pesticides, there is a growing need for alternative approaches. Here, we present the preliminary genome sequence of SJ10, a gram-negative bacterium identified as Pseudomonas alkylphenolica and belonging to the Pseudomonadaceae family. Pseudomonas species are among the most widely studied biocontrol agents within soil bacteria. Moreover, strains of Pseudomonas alkylphenolica are renowned for their ability to enhance plant growth. The elucidation of this genome holds considerable promise for advancing our understanding of the mechanisms underlying plant growth promotion by soil microbiota.
