Despite the increasing need for pharmacological treatments, the specific molecular pathways driving abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) remain poorly understood. It is well known that perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT) can surround arteries and exert its effects in a paracrine manner, thereby influencing cardiovascular diseases. However, its exact function in the development of AAA remains unclear. Extracellular vesicles produced by mesenchymal stem cells (MSC-EVs) have an impact on the formation of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs). This study investigates PVAT's precise function in AAA, notably as it relates to the regulation of NETs.
