Thermokarst lakes on the Tibetan Plateau from 1990 to 2022

Recent climate warming has accelerated the permafrost thaw and dynamics of thermokarst lakes (TLs) on the Tibetan Plateau. Using the global surface water product, we compiled an inventory of TLs with areas ranging from 1-300 ha, and categorized them as unchanging, expanding, emerging, shrinking and vanishing. Based on time-series remote sensing imagery, we identified the primary occurrence year of lake changes from 1990 to 2022. Also, this dataset includes information on the topographic and permafrost characteristics of TLs.近年来气候变暖加速了青藏高原多年冻土（permafrost）的消融与热融湖塘（thermokarst lakes, TLs）的动态变化。本研究依托全球地表水域产品，构建了面积范围为1至300公顷的热融湖塘名录，并将其划分为稳定不变、扩张、新增、萎缩及消失五类。基于时间序列遥感影像，本研究识别出1990年至2022年间各热融湖塘变化事件的初始发生年份。此外，本数据集还包含热融湖塘的地形与多年冻土特征相关信息。
