Research on atrial fibrillation (AF) and frailty has gained significant attention in recent years. This study offers a comprehensive analysis of the current state, key research hotspots, and future trends in this field[1]. Between 2001 and 2024, a total of 687 relevant articles were identified from the Web of Science Core Collection[2]. Using VOSviewer and CiteSpace as bibliometric tools, we analyzed and visualized knowledge networks within the literature. Over this period, the volume of publications on AF and frailty has shown consistent growth, with contributions from 46 countries/regions, 1,540 institutions, and 4,096 researchers. Among these, the United States emerged as the most prolific contributor. Our bibliometric and visual analysis highlights several major research hotspots, including the relationship between AF and frailty[3], the risk-benefit balance of anticoagulation therapy, the impact of frailty on clinical outcomes, and investigations into potential underlying mechanisms[4]. Emerging areas of research include personalized anticoagulation strategies, frailty assessment and intervention, inflammation-targeted therapies for AF, and multi-omics approaches. Looking ahead, future studies should prioritize multidisciplinary collaboration and the integration of precision medicine principles to develop optimized treatment strategies for frail patients with AF.
