Recent studies have highlighted the importance of structural variants such as inversions in evolution and adaptation of species. A high quality reference genome is however required to detect and study such variants. In this study we used long reads and optical mapping data in order to enhance the quality of the pearl millet reference genome and to identify and validate structural variants in pearl millet African population. The fasta file with the accession number GCA_947561735.1 contains the 7 chromosomes of the pearl millet genome (~1.78Gb). The unplaced sequences of the assembly can be found with the accession number CAOJCL010000000.1 (1,178 sequences representing ~70Mb).

近期研究已凸显出倒位等结构变异在物种演化与适应性进程中的重要作用。然而,若要检测并研究此类变异,则需依托高质量的参考基因组。本研究采用长读长测序数据(long reads)与光学图谱数据(optical mapping),以提升珍珠粟(pearl millet)参考基因组的组装质量,并对非洲珍珠粟种群中的结构变异开展鉴定与验证工作。登录号为GCA_947561735.1的FASTA格式文件包含该珍珠粟基因组的7条染色体,组装全长约1.78吉碱基对(Gb)。该基因组组装结果中的未锚定序列可通过登录号CAOJCL010000000.1获取,共计1178条序列,总长约70兆碱基对(Mb)。
