Carbon speciation and Rock‑Eval data from graphitic core samples of the Birrindudu Deep Dive region, Northern Territory

This report presents carbon speciation and Rock-Eval pyrolysis data on graphitic-rich core samples from 6 legacy drill cores collected at the Northern Territory Geological Survey core repositories. Carbon speciation data include including total carbon, total inorganic carbon, total organic carbon and total graphitic carbon data. Graphitic carbon content is a key parameter for assessing graphite quality and potential economic value. The report also presents Rock-Eval pyrolysis data with their associated pyrolysis and oxidation thermograms, which are complementary to the carbon speciation data. These data form part of a drill core analytical program undertaken as part of the Birrindudu Deep Dive project. This project is delivered under the Resourcing Australia’s Prosperity initiative, the Australian Government’s 35 year (2024–2059), precompetitive geoscience initiative led by Geoscience Australia. Its purpose is to accelerate the discovery and responsible development of Australia's critical minerals, strategic materials, hydrogen, carbon dioxide storage, offshore renewable energy and groundwater resources.

本报告呈现了采自北领地地质调查局（Northern Territory Geological Survey）岩芯库的6套遗留钻探岩芯中富石墨岩芯样品的碳形态分析与Rock-Eval热解（Rock-Eval pyrolysis）数据。碳形态分析数据涵盖总碳（total carbon）、总无机碳（total inorganic carbon）、总有机碳（total organic carbon）及总石墨碳（total graphitic carbon）四类数据。石墨碳含量是评估石墨品质与潜在经济价值的核心参数。本报告同时配套发布了Rock-Eval热解数据及其关联的热解与氧化热谱图，可作为碳形态分析数据的补充支撑。上述数据属于Birrindudu深部钻探（Birrindudu Deep Dive）项目钻探岩芯分析计划的组成部分。该项目依托“赋能澳大利亚繁荣”（Resourcing Australia’s Prosperity）倡议推进——这是澳大利亚政府由澳大利亚地质调查局（Geoscience Australia）牵头的、为期35年（2024–2059年）的预竞争性地质科学倡议。其宗旨在于加速澳大利亚关键矿产、战略材料、氢能、二氧化碳封存、近海可再生能源及地下水资源的勘探与负责任开发。
