Measuring Constituency Ideology Using Bayesian Universal Kriging

In this project, we develop measures of ideology for states, congressional districts, and state legislative districts in the United States. We do this using a training dataset from the 2008 Cooperative Congressional Election Study and a forecasting dataset from the 2010 Census.<br>

Readers who only want our output measures of public ideology in 2010 need only download four files: <b>stateWholeKrigingFine.csv</b> for the 50 states, <b>congKrigingFine.csv</b> for congressional districts, <b>stateLowerKrigingFine.csv</b> for lower chamber districts of state legislatures, <b>stateUpperKrigingFine.csv</b> for upper chamber districts of state legislatures.

本项目针对美国各州、国会选区以及州立法选区构建了意识形态测度指标。本次构建采用两份数据集：一份来自2008年合作国会选举研究（Cooperative Congressional Election Study）的训练数据集，另一份为2010年人口普查（Census）的预测数据集。仅需获取2010年美国公众意识形态测度结果的使用者，仅需下载四个数据文件：覆盖全美50个州的stateWholeKrigingFine.csv、对应国会选区的congKrigingFine.csv、州议会下院选区的stateLowerKrigingFine.csv，以及州议会上院选区的stateUpperKrigingFine.csv。
