Elephantid betaherpesvirus 1 strain:Strain 1a Genome sequencing and assembly

Elephant Herpes Virus 1a was sequenced from necropsy samples from Central Indian captive elephants in Madhya Pradesh, India. The elephant calf died in Satpura Tiger Reserve on dated 28.05.2024. All the samples of organs were positive for Elephant Herpes Virus. The elephant had all clinical symptoms like off- fed, restlessness, cyanotic tongue etc. The elephant was mixed with recent contact with another asymptomatic carrier elepant.

研究人员从印度中央邦（Madhya Pradesh）境内圈养印度象的尸检样本中完成了大象疱疹病毒1a（Elephant Herpes Virus 1a）的测序工作。该幼象于2024年5月28日在萨特普拉老虎保护区（Satpura Tiger Reserve）死亡，所有采集的器官样本均呈大象疱疹病毒检测阳性。该幼象表现出全部典型临床症状，包括食欲不振、躁动不安、舌头发绀等。该幼象近期曾与另一头无症状病毒携带大象发生接触。
