Absolute and relative abundances of calcareous nannofossils at IODP Site U1475 during the early Pliocene

This dataset provides early Pliocene absolute and relative abundances of calcareous nannofossils from Site U1475, drilled on the southwestern flank of the Agulhas Plateau in the southwestern Indian Ocean during IODP Expedition 361: South African Climate from 30 January to 31 March 2016. Microscope slides were prepared using the random settling technique (Flores and Sierro, 1997), with counts conducted at 1000x magnification under cross-polarised and phase-contrast light. Abundances were assessed by counting at least 400 coccoliths per sample, with additional fields of view examined to capture rarer taxa.
