Masonry chimneys in European countries

This Masonry Chimney collection is based on OpenStreetMap data and filtered by Tamás Ther, PhD. Google Maps link: LINK. Basic data were exported from the OpenStreetMap database by collecting the "man_made"="chimney" records for some European countries. The JSON data were filtered using a Python script to select records with heights between 30 and 120 m. An additional Python script collected Google Maps view of each chimney, allowing a final visual selection to retain only masonry structures. The database is far from complete, as many records in OSM do not have a "height" tag. Moreover, the visual-based filter involved manually scanning images and selecting the masonry structures, so errors due to incorrect selection or omission may exist. Any contributions to make the database more complete are greatly appreciated.
