This dataset contains the state-owned shelter forest afforestation area of various regions from 1949 to 1987. It is compiled based on the *National Forestry Statistical Compilation 1949-1987*, and covers statistics of 29 provinces, municipalities directly under the Central Government, autonomous regions, and ministry-affiliated units across China (excluding Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao) for the period 1949 to 1987.
