An experimental study using a butane heater and open wood fire in partially- and fully-sealed spaces. Carbon monoxide (CO) concentrations and thermal conditions were recorded in four test scenarios.A butane heater gives rise to negligible CO concentrations when in a partially ventilated space, although these concentrations rose slowly when the space was sealed. Small open wood fires afford peak CO concentrations of 653 ppm and 532 ppm. Both scenarios had extended periods where CO concentrations exceeded 400 ppm.We used a simplified Euler method, based on measured CO concentrations and physiological constants, to model carboxyhaemoglobin (HbCO) dynamics and evaluate physiological impacts of exposure. Our model predicted peak HbCO levels could exceed 11%, at which we expect neurobehavioral and cognitive changes. Projections of 8 h exposure at 400 ppm resulted in HbCO of 26.1% and 24.8%.

本实验在半封闭与全封闭空间内,分别开展丁烷加热器与明火木柴燃烧的试验,共设置四种测试场景,记录了一氧化碳(carbon monoxide, CO)浓度与热环境参数。在半通风空间中使用丁烷加热器时,产生的一氧化碳浓度极低,几乎可忽略不计;但当空间转为全封闭状态后,该浓度会缓慢升高。小型明火木柴燃烧场景下,一氧化碳浓度峰值分别达到653 ppm与532 ppm。两类测试场景均存在一氧化碳浓度持续超过400 ppm的时段。本研究基于实测一氧化碳浓度与生理常数,采用简化欧拉法(Euler method)建模碳氧血红蛋白(carboxyhaemoglobin, HbCO)的动态变化过程,并评估一氧化碳暴露带来的生理影响。本模型预测碳氧血红蛋白峰值浓度可超过11%,此时预计会出现神经行为与认知功能改变。针对400 ppm浓度下8小时暴露的推演结果显示,碳氧血红蛋白占比分别为26.1%与24.8%。
