A crop-type database has been conceived to relate a sunlight-informed model directly with the light requirements of different crop species. After a literature review, the table shows the twenty-six crops under study. Their light conditions were analysed, converted and mined from recent literature, which included (LEDTonic, 2021);(Currey and Yost, 2020); (Currey, Walters and Flax, 2019); (Dou et al., 2018); (Gellenbeck et al., 2019); (Engler and Krarti, 2021) and the Global CEA Census Report (Horomia and Gordon-Smith, 2021). The dataset includes the crop's ID, type, species, scientific name, Daily Light Integral (DLI), DLI group classification, yearly yield and monthly yield. The yield performance of the studied 26 crops includes data from (Gellenbeck et al., 2019); (Baktemur et al., 2022); (Mann, 2014); (Dorr et al., 2021); (Kumar et al., 2022); (Udagawa, 1992); (Pinho et al., 2018); (Bulgari et al., 2017); (Van Ginkel, Igou and Chen, 2017); (Payen et al., 2022); (Hanson and Vonweihe, 2015); (Ko, Ahn and Son, 2013); (Led et al., 2023). These studies consider the results of yield examined under optimal conditions using soilless vertical systems in CEA.
