Original image stacks for descriptions of fossil mites Levantoglyphus sidorchukae n. gen. and sp. from Cretaceous amber of Lebanon (ca. 129 Ma). Two specimens in a finely polished piece of amber are embedded in epoxy between two glass coverslips.<br>Compound microscopes Nikon E-800 with water immersion optics (40x and 60x), Zeiss AxioImager A2 with dry (40x, 63x) and oil immersion optics (100x), Leica DM 2500 LED (40x, 100x). Brightfield, phase contrast, polarized and differential interference contrast and incident illumination were used. Stacks of images, comprising multiple focal planes, were obtained with digital cameras Olympus OM-D E-M10II on the Nikon microscope, Zeiss Axiocam 506 color, Hitachi KP-HD20A on the Zeiss microscope, and Leica DMC4500 on the Leica microscope.<br>Stacks were corrected for color, brightness and noise with Adobe Lightroom, then exported to JPEG format. <br><br>

本数据集为黎巴嫩白垩纪琥珀(约1.29亿年)中发现的新属新种化石螨Levantoglyphus sidorchukae n. gen. et sp.的形态描述所用的原始图像堆栈(image stacks)。<br>一块经精细抛光的琥珀标本内含两枚螨类标本,该琥珀被包埋于两片玻璃盖玻片之间的环氧树脂中。<br>所用复合显微镜包括:搭载水浸物镜(40×、60×)的尼康E-800显微镜、搭载干式物镜(40×、63×)及油浸物镜(100×)的蔡司AxioImager A2显微镜,以及徕卡DM 2500 LED显微镜(配置40×、100×物镜)。成像采用明场、相差、偏振光及微分干涉差(differential interference contrast)照明模式,同时辅以落射照明(incident illumination)。<br>通过配套数码相机采集包含多个焦面的图像堆栈:尼康显微镜搭配奥林巴斯OM-D E-M10II数码相机,蔡司显微镜搭配蔡司Axiocam 506彩色数码相机及日立KP-HD20A数码相机,徕卡显微镜搭配徕卡DMC4500数码相机。<br>所有图像堆栈均经Adobe Lightroom校正色彩、亮度并去除噪声,随后导出为JPEG格式文件。
