Newcastle Disease Virus in Wild Birds: Comprehensive Raw Sequence Data from different USA Locations

Newcastle disease, caused by the Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV), significantly impacts poultry production globally. Occurrences of NDV vaccine strains in North American wild birds suggest potential transmission between domestic and wild birds. This study explores how NDV strains adapt from aquatic birds to chickens and whether this adaptation increases virulence or causes genetic changes in the virus affecting chickens.
