I progetti di costruzione e l'infrastruttura extra-urbana nella Libia balbiana

This paper analyses the case of Libya, which under Italo Balbo's government experiences had an intense construction activity and an extra-urban infrastructure. The most relevant innovation was the construction of the residential rural centers, public and private buildings of different use and the construction of the coastal road which links Libya from east to west. This connection was built in a record time, from the Egyptian border to the Tunisian border. The aim of the projects was of strategic and propagandistic nature, in order to make Libya competitive with other colonial countries of the African coast and in order to realize the great Italian dream of the "fourth shore".

本文以利比亚为研究案例，伊塔洛·巴尔博（Italo Balbo）执政时期，该国曾掀起高强度建设热潮并搭建起城郊基础设施网络。其中最具代表性的创新举措包括：兴建乡村居住社区、功能各异的公共与私人建筑，以及贯通利比亚东西全境的沿海公路。这条公路以创纪录的工期建成，线路东起埃及边境、西至突尼斯边境。该系列工程兼具战略与宣传双重目的，旨在让利比亚能够与非洲沿岸其他殖民国家形成竞争优势，并实现意大利“第四海岸”的伟大构想。
