资源简介:
Aquatic invasions of nonindigenous species have increased dramatically due to the globalization of consumer goods, which relies on shipping to connect once isolated marine environments. Predicting the potential for further distribution of an invasive species is critical for developing mitigation and eradication strategies. Various studies examined the adult and larvae of A. modestus, and therefore, this body of literature was used to identify the biological tolerances of the barnacle. The information on the physiological tolerances of A. modestus, were compared to temperature and salinity data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in the northeastern U.S. Analyzing the two stressors together may provide a better prediction of potential spread.
