Phaeovibrio sulfidiphilus is a divergent member of the Rhodospirillaceae. It is limited in its ability to utilize organic compounds for photosynthetic growth, consisting of acetate, pyruvate, and succinate. It is a strict anaerobe and has a requirement for sulfide as a sulfur source. We now sequenced the genome of the type strain Phv. sulfidiphilus DSM 23193.

嗜硫褐弧菌(Phaeovibrio sulfidiphilus)是红螺菌科(Rhodospirillaceae)的一个演化分化类群。其利用有机底物进行光合生长的能力受限,仅可利用乙酸盐、丙酮酸盐及琥珀酸盐。该菌为专性厌氧菌,且必须以硫化物作为硫源。本研究现已完成模式菌株Phv. sulfidiphilus DSM 23193的全基因组测序。
