The larvae of Thaumetopoea pityocampa is a known pest residing in Mediterranean countries such as Turkey. The insect feeds on the leaves of pine trees. The final aim of the project was to find the full sequence of some neuropeptide receptors which can be used in prospective studies of designing pest control agents.

松异舟蛾（Thaumetopoea pityocampa）的幼虫是一种已知害虫，栖息于土耳其等地中海国家。该昆虫以松树的叶片为食。本项目的最终目标是获取部分神经肽受体（neuropeptide receptors）的完整序列，此类序列可用于害虫防治药剂研发的前瞻性研究。
