Oral History Interview - Tito Chirro (A Guarda)

In this oral-history interview, José Benito Rodríguez González (known as Tito Chirro), a fisherman from A Guarda, recounts his experiences of traditional coastal fishing practices, especially the volanta system, and reflects on the collective reconstruction of the Piueiro vessel as a heritage initiative. His testimony explores systems of fishermen’s marks as identity and ownership practices, cross-border maritime relations with Portuguese communities such as Póvoa de Varzim, and devotional practices associated with Santa Trega.
