Comparative transcriptome analysis of immune response to oral Penicillium-fungus infection in D. virilis and D. melanogaster.. Drosophila melanogaster

D. virilis has a higher resistance to oral infection of a species of filamentous fungi belonging to the genus Penicillium, compared to D. melanogaster. To clarify the immune mechanism responsible for the higher antifungal resistance of D. virilis, larval immune response to the fungal infection between D. virilis and D. melanogaster was compared by means of comparative transcriptome analyses.

相较于黑腹果蝇（Drosophila melanogaster, D. melanogaster），维氏果蝇（Drosophila virilis, D. virilis）对青霉属（Penicillium）某丝状真菌物种的经口感染具有更高抗性。为阐明维氏果蝇更高抗真菌抗性背后的免疫机制，本研究通过比较转录组分析手段，对比了两种果蝇幼虫针对该真菌感染的免疫应答反应。
