Sewage work carries an increased risk of serious health problems and fatal accidents. The main reason for this is hydrogen sulfide (H2S). Knowing how and where exposure to hydrogen sulphide (H2S) occurs, as well as good work practices including the use of safety equipment, will reduce risk and save lives and health. By collecting measurement data from alarm equipment for gas, we will be able to see when and where the risk is greatest, so that risk-reducing measures can be implemented where they have the best effect. There is great variation in the technical standard of sewage systems around Norway, and also in the knowledge of risk factors associated with sewage work. Unfortunately, gas sensors are not used everywhere, or the wrong sensor is in use. This work will develop knowledge and help employees and employers throughout municipal Norway, to make good choices for risk and exposure reduction when designing facilities and when choosing alarm and protection equipment, as well as for training and education of sewage workers. Hopefully the knowledge will also prove useful outside Norway. The data file made available here is, via the published algorithm, used to present a risk figure that brings together the average value and top exposure in one number.

污水作业罹患严重健康问题及遭遇致命事故的风险显著升高,其核心诱因为硫化氢(hydrogen sulfide, H₂S)。明晰硫化氢暴露的发生场景与途径,并落实包含安全防护装备使用在内的规范作业流程,可有效降低作业风险,守护作业人员的生命与健康。通过采集气体报警设备的监测数据,我们能够明确风险最高的时段与点位,从而在防控效益最优的场景落地风险消减措施。 挪威各地污水系统的技术标准参差不齐,从业人员对污水作业相关风险因素的认知水平也存在较大差异。遗憾的是,部分作业场所未配置气体传感器,或传感器选型不当。本项目将形成系统性认知成果,助力挪威全国市政体系内的从业人员与用工方,在设施设计、报警与防护装备选型,以及污水作业人员的培训教育等环节,做出科学合理的风险与暴露消减决策。本研究成果亦有望惠及挪威以外的地区。 本次公开提供的数据集文件,可通过已发布的算法生成综合风险数值,该数值将平均暴露水平与最高暴露水平整合为单一量化指标。
