The purpose of the dataset C. elegans muscle aging is to deduce the age of the nemathode based on images of muscles. Images of C. elegans were taken at different chronological ages. This image is part of the day 8 data set. Note that the morphological and chronological ages are not fully correlated due to the variability among individuals even though the individuals are genetically identical. The source for the dataset is Laboratory of Genetics/NIA/NIH.

本数据集为秀丽隐杆线虫（C. elegans）肌肉衰老数据集，其研究目的为基于肌肉图像推断该线虫的年龄。数据集采集了秀丽隐杆线虫在不同实龄下的肌肉图像，本图像属于第8天数据集的一部分。需注意，即便个体遗传背景完全一致，个体间的差异仍会导致形态学年龄与实龄无法完全相关。本数据集的来源为美国国立卫生研究院（NIH）下属国立衰老研究所（NIA）遗传学实验室。
