Klebsiella quasipneumoniae has been recently reported to be resistant and virulent as other K. pneumoniae strains, representing serious concern of health care-associated infections. In this study, we report the draft genome of NDM-1 and KPC-2-producing Klebsiella quasipneumoniae clinical strains, which were recovered from a hospitalized patient in Brazil. The whole-genome sequencing revealed K. quasipneumoniae subsp. quasipneumoniae and K. quasipneumoniae subsp. similipneumoniae strains harbored resistance genes to aminoglycosides, b-lactams, fluoroquinolone, fosfomycin and sulphonamide. These data allow better understanding of the genomics aspects of Klebsiella quasipneumoniae strains circulating in Brazil.

类肺炎克雷伯菌(Klebsiella quasipneumoniae)近日被报道可与其他肺炎克雷伯菌(K. pneumoniae)菌株一样兼具耐药性与致病性,对医院获得性感染防控构成严峻挑战。本研究报道了产NDM-1与KPC-2的类肺炎克雷伯菌临床分离株的草图基因组序列,这些菌株分离自巴西一名住院患者。全基因组测序分析显示,类肺炎克雷伯菌类肺炎亚种(K. quasipneumoniae subsp. quasipneumoniae)与类肺炎克雷伯菌相似肺炎亚种(K. quasipneumoniae subsp. similipneumoniae)菌株携带氨基糖苷类、β-内酰胺类、氟喹诺酮类、磷霉素以及磺胺类耐药基因。本研究数据有助于进一步解析巴西流行的类肺炎克雷伯菌菌株的基因组学特征。
