Lepiota flavocarpa

<i>Lepiota flavocarpa, </i>characterized by its yellowish basidiomata and dark yellow to yellowish-brown pyramidal squamules on the pileus is reported for the first time from India. Morphological and molecular characters were employed for taxonomic identification. Comprehensive description, maximum likelihood tree generated using ITS sequence data and photographs are presented. The binomial <i>L. flavocarpa, </i>is validated.
