Prevalence of Influenza A and B and Respiratory Syncytial Virus Infections Before and After COVID-19 Pandemic in the Pediatric Population in Lebanon- A Retrospective Study

Seasonal influenza and RSV outbreaks cause considerable morbidity and mortality in the pediatric population worldwide. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed virus epidemiology. Until today, it is still unclear how this pandemic affected the transmission of common respiratory viruses. The present study aimed at comparing the prevalence of RSV and influenza A/B infection before and after the COVID-19 pandemic in the Lebanese pediatric population.

季节性流感与呼吸道合胞病毒（Respiratory Syncytial Virus, RSV）暴发，在全球范围内对儿科人群造成了显著的发病率与死亡率负担。新型冠状病毒肺炎（Corona Virus Disease 2019, COVID-19）大流行改变了病毒流行病学格局。直至今日，学界仍未明确此次大流行对常见呼吸道病毒的传播模式产生了何种影响。本研究旨在对比新型冠状病毒肺炎大流行前后，黎巴嫩儿科人群中呼吸道合胞病毒与甲型、乙型流感病毒的感染流行率。
