Benthic bycatch data from non-native Crepidula fornicata dredge surveys in Belfast Lough from 2013-2017

This dataset contains information on the presence and absence of bycaught infaunal species from Crepidula fornicata surveys in Belfast Lough in 2013-2017 on board the Fisheries Protection Vessel, Banríon Uladh (renamed in 2016 to Queen of Ulster). The surveys were carried out each year in late September and early October (each over 2 days of surveying). It is important to note that this dataset contains bycatch information and this was not the key aim of the survey. The C.fornicata survey is carried out to routinely monitor the extent of the breeding population of C.fornicata (non-native in Northern Ireland) to enable policies to be put in place to minimise the spread of non-native fauna. A small oyster dredge was used to collect samples.

本数据集涵盖2013至2017年间，在贝尔法斯特湾（Belfast Lough）开展的同居履螺（Crepidula fornicata）调查中，兼捕底内生物（infaunal species）的出现与缺失情况。本次调查作业搭载于渔业保护船（Fisheries Protection Vessel）“班里安·乌拉德号（Banríon Uladh，2016年更名为阿尔斯特女王号（Queen of Ulster））”执行。每年的调查均安排于9月下旬至10月初开展，单次调查时长超过2天。需特别说明的是，本数据集仅收录兼捕生物信息，而兼捕采样并非本次调查的核心目标。本次同居履螺调查的核心目的为常规监测该物种（在北爱尔兰为外来入侵物种）的繁殖种群规模，以便制定相关政策以遏制外来动物类群的扩散。调查采用小型牡蛎拖网完成样品采集。
