In a natural forest in southwest Ethiopia, the study investigates the diversity and distribution of wild yeast species in the rhizosphere soil and plant surfaces. With high rates of yeast isolation from tree bark, it exposes a variety of yeast genera. Seasonal differences in yeast abundance were also discovered by the study; spring and summer demonstrated significant positive relationships. The discovery of stress-tolerant yeast species showed how adaptable they are to harsh environments. The study emphasizes the potential of stress-tolerant yeasts for biotechnological applications as well as the significance of natural forests as repositories of microbial diversity.
