In the intestine of mice, many proteins related to xenobiotic metabolism, like cytochrome P450, UGT and ABC transporters were downregulated by knockout of Malat1, along with the increased expression of some proteins in allergic reaction. The results show that Malat1 may play a role in response to environmental stress and maybe this is why the expression of Malat1 was increased in many tumors.

在小鼠肠道中,Malat1基因敲除可下调多种与异生物质代谢(xenobiotic metabolism)相关的蛋白,包括细胞色素P450(cytochrome P450)、UGT以及ABC转运蛋白(ABC transporters);同时,过敏反应相关的部分蛋白表达水平出现上调。研究结果表明,Malat1可能在环境应激应答过程中发挥功能,而这或许正是多种肿瘤中Malat1表达上调的原因。
