Fabric Study - Demographic Data

The fabric study was a qualitative pilot study to explore end-user reactions to a new potential vaginal dosage form for MPT. Focus groups were carried out at sites that were currently or had previously carried out clinical trials of microbicide vaginal gels: Durban, South Africa; Kampala, Uganda; and Harare, Zimbabwe.<br>Each participant was asked to answer a short demographic and background information questionnaire to collect such information as prior study participation, experience with other microbicides including gel, age, education, language, religion, income and employment, housing and housing conditions, marital/partnership status, experience with HIV prevention, experience with contraceptive methods, and current vaginal practices.<br>During the FGD and conversations, each participant was also asked to fill out a Shape Rating Form to assess preference for 3 different geometrical shapes for the fabric.

本织物研究是一项定性预试验，旨在探索终端用户对一种用于MPT的新型潜在阴道给药剂型的反应。焦点小组访谈（Focus Groups, FGD）在目前或此前开展过杀微生物剂阴道凝胶临床试验的地点进行，包括南非德班、乌干达坎帕拉以及津巴布韦哈拉雷。所有参与者均需填写一份简短的人口统计学与背景信息问卷，以收集其既往参与研究的经历、包括凝胶在内的其他杀微生物剂使用经历、年龄、受教育程度、语言、宗教信仰、收入与就业情况、住房及居住条件、婚姻/伴侣关系状况、艾滋病预防相关经历、避孕方法使用经历以及当前阴道护理习惯等信息。在焦点小组访谈（FGD）与交谈过程中，还要求每位参与者填写一份形状评分表（Shape Rating Form），以评估其对该织物（Fabric）的3种不同几何形状的偏好。
