The cardiac microRNA response to prenatal and postnatal overnutrition

The global obesity epidemic has resulted in increasingly large number of children being born to overweight and obese parents. Offspring exposed to maternal obesity have been shown to be more likely to develop metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular disease. We sought to determine the effect maternal obesity on microRNA expression in the hearts of offspring.
