Optical imaging modalities have emerged as a keystone in oncological research, capable of providing molecular and cellular information on cancer with the advantage of being minimally invasive toward healthy tissues. Photothermal therapy (PTT) has shown great potential, with the exceptional advantages of high specificity and noninvasiveness. Combining surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS)- based optical imaging with PTT has shown tremendous potential in cancer theranostics (therapeutics + diagnosis). This comprehensive review article provides up-to-date information by exploring recent works focused mainly on the development of plasmonic nanoparticles formedical applications using SERSguided PTT, including the fundamental principles behind SERS and the plasmon heating effect for PTT.

光学成像模态已成为肿瘤学研究的核心基石,能够提供癌症的分子与细胞层面信息,且对健康组织具备微创特性。光热疗法(Photothermal therapy, PTT)凭借高特异性与非侵入性的突出优势,展现出巨大的应用潜力。将基于表面增强拉曼光谱(Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy, SERS)的光学成像技术与光热疗法相结合,在肿瘤诊疗一体化(治疗+诊断)领域展现出极具前景的应用价值。本综述通过探讨近期相关研究进展,系统梳理了面向医学应用、依托SERS引导光热疗法的等离子体纳米颗粒的开发工作,涵盖了表面增强拉曼光谱的基本原理以及光热疗法所依托的等离子体热效应。
