Bone metastases (BoMs) are associated with a five-fold increased risk of mortality in patients with advanced prostate cancer (PCa). However, the current treatments offer only marginal improvements in survival and symptom management. In this study, we found that prostate tumors rewire their metabolism to adapt to the bone microenvironment by utilizing lactate as a net carbon source for fatty acid synthesis.
