Data Collection: Conduct pre-aging fracture tests on wires and cables, and collect data including the original sample length and critical fracture length. 2. Data Processing: Denote the original sample length as a and the critical fracture length as L. Calculate the sample's elongation at break using the formula: Sample Elongation at Break = (L - a)/a.
