Strait of Georgia Central Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler 150 kHz Deployed 2010-02-19

The RDI Workhorse Quartermaster ADCP 150 kHz (SN 8580) was deployed on 2010-02-19 at Strait of Georgia Central. Strait of Georgia Central is a central area in the Strait of Georgia. This device is a Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler 150 kHz. Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCP) are hydroacoustic instruments, similar to sonars. ADCPs measure current speed and direction at multiple predetermined depths simultaneously. ADCPs use the Doppler effect of sound waves that are scattered by particles in seawater over a depth range. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 2.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.

RDI Workhorse Quartermaster型150 kHz声学多普勒流速剖面仪（Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler，ADCP，序列号SN 8580）于2010年2月19日部署于乔治亚海峡中部。乔治亚海峡中部为乔治亚海峡的中央区域。该设备为150 kHz声学多普勒流速剖面仪（ADCP），此类水声仪器的工作原理与声呐相似。ADCP可同时在多个预设深度层面测量流速与流向，其利用声波在海水颗粒物散射后产生的多普勒效应，实现指定深度范围内的流速与流向监测。本次部署采用固定式平台搭载方式。本批次采集的数据已完成归档，并通过加拿大海洋网络（Ocean Networks Canada）的Oceans 2.0数字基础设施对外共享；所有数据均遵循既定规范完成质量管控，并生成了符合标准的衍生数据产品。
