This study aimed to evaluate the potential pathogenicity and antibiotic resistance of 23 environmental Vibrio mechstnikovii isolates obtained from landfill leachates in southwestern Colombia. Isolates were identified by MALDI-TOF, and 16S RNA gene sequencing. Analysis of the susceptibility to six antibacterial agents by Kirby Bauer method showed susceptibility of all isolates to ciprofloxacin. We recorded resistance to betalactams and aminoglycosides, but no multidrug resistance was observed. The genome of one of the isolates (Vmet_L7_12) was sequenced to determine the pathogenic potential of V. mechstnikovii isolate. Genes associated with virulence were identified, including flagellar synthesis, biofilm formation, and hemolysins, among others.
本研究旨在评估从哥伦比亚西南部垃圾渗滤液中分离得到的23株环境来源梅契尼科夫弧菌(Vibrio mechstnikovii)的潜在致病性与抗生素耐药性。所有分离株均经基质辅助激光解吸电离飞行时间质谱(MALDI-TOF)及16S RNA基因测序完成鉴定。采用柯比-鲍尔(Kirby Bauer)法对6种抗菌药物进行药敏性分析,结果显示所有分离株均对环丙沙星敏感。研究发现分离株对β-内酰胺类与氨基糖苷类抗菌药物存在耐药性,但未观察到多重耐药现象。为明确梅契尼科夫弧菌分离株的致病潜力,研究人员对其中一株编号为Vmet_L7_12的分离株进行了全基因组测序。研究鉴定出多种与毒力相关的基因,包括鞭毛合成、生物被膜形成相关基因及溶血素编码基因等。
