青藏高原被誉为地球“第三极”,是对气候变化极为敏感的区域。受人类活动干扰较小,湖泊水量变化可作为反映气候变化的独特指标,但该地区全面详实的湖泊面积与容积数据十分稀缺,尤其对于面积小于10平方公里、对环境变化最敏感的小型湖泊更是如此。在本数据集中,我们利用Landsat系列影像与数字地形模型,完成了1989年至2019年期间青藏高原内流盆地976个面积大于1平方公里的湖泊年度面积与容积变化普查。该数据集包含湖泊边界矢量文件,其中收录了每个湖泊1989至2019年逐年面积及相对容积数据。此外,我们用于计算湖泊相对容积的初始水体种子文件也已一并公开。

The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, known as the Earth's "Third Pole", is an extremely climate-sensitive region. With relatively low human disturbance, changes in lake water volume can serve as a unique indicator reflecting climate change. However, comprehensive and detailed data on lake area and volume in this region are extremely scarce, particularly for small lakes with an area less than 10 km², which are most sensitive to environmental changes. In this dataset, we conducted a census of annual area and volume changes for 976 lakes with an area greater than 1 km² in the endorheic basins of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau from 1989 to 2019 using Landsat series images and digital elevation models (DEMs). This dataset includes lake boundary vector files that contain the annual area and relative volume data of each lake from 1989 to 2019. Additionally, the initial water body seed files used to calculate the relative lake volume have also been publicly released alongside this dataset.
