Microbial diversity research and biotechnological potential of coastal cenote communities

Underground aquatic ecosystems, such as cenotes, have been relatively understudied regarding microbial biodiversity and their potential for producing bioactive compounds. This study represents an initial step towards exploring the genetic diversity and biotechnological potential of microorganisms present in coastal cenote sediments through metagenomic analysis.

以沼穴（cenote）为代表的地下水生生态系统，其微生物多样性及合成生物活性化合物的潜力相关研究仍较为匮乏。本研究通过宏基因组分析（metagenomic analysis），为探究沿海沼穴沉积物中微生物的遗传多样性与生物技术应用潜力迈出了初步探索的一步。
