This dataset mainly covers patents related to domestic vertical grinding machines. The patent data is evaluated using a proprietary algorithm, enabling users to gain horizontal and longitudinal insights into the changes in patent data related to vertical grinding machines, and to understand the outcomes of intellectual property (IP) work in this field. By conducting patent value assessments, enterprises can implement patent protection in advance; understanding the technological development trends of vertical grinding machines helps enterprises avoid redundant R&D and prevent their developed technologies from infringing others' intellectual property rights.
1. Data Collection: Quantities of invention patents, utility model patents, and design patents related to domestic vertical grinding machines are collected via a proprietary intellectual property retrieval website.
2. Data Processing: The collected raw data is processed, cleaned and categorized by removing duplicate and incomplete records.
3. Data Calculation: The patent value evaluation model adopts the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), where subjective weights are assigned to each indicator via the AHP-based subjective weighting method. The scores for technical, legal, market, strategic and economic value are calculated as: Dimension Score = Σ (Indicator Score in the Corresponding Dimension × Its Assigned Weight).
- Technical value indicators: number of citations by examiners, number of countries of cited patents, number of cited non-patent literatures, number of cited patents, number of IPC sections, number of IPC subclasses;
- Legal value indicators: number of independent claims, number of words in the independent claim, total number of claims, number of pages in the specification, number of filing countries, PCT international applications, patent lifespan;
- Market value indicators: number of patent families, remaining validity period;
- Strategic value indicators: number of invalidation proceedings, ETSI standard participation, patent awards;
- Economic value indicators: number of transfers, number of licenses, number of pledges.
The total patent score is the sum of the scores from the five aforementioned dimensions. The IFS function is used to determine the patent value tier, with the following logic: Patent Value Tier = IFS(Patent Score > 45, "Ultra-high Value Patent", Patent Score > 20, "High Value Patent", Patent Score > 10, "Medium Value Patent", Patent Score > 0, "Low Value Patent"). This dataset provides decision-making basis for R&D and priority reference for technology infringement avoidance for technical personnel in the field of vertical grinding machines.
