Stokes drift is a potentially important contributing factor to transport of oil on the sea surface. We collected WAVEWATCH III hindcast data in an ascii format and used parameters from this model to calculate Stokes drift at the surface. We then collected the Stokes drift data in netCDF files to make them more available to the scientific community. The WAVEWATCH III hindcast output data was obtained from NOAA's National Weather Service Environmental Modeling Center (http://polar.ncep.noaa.gov/waves/viewer.shtml?-multi_1-gmex-).
斯托克斯漂流(Stokes drift)是海面石油运移过程中的潜在重要影响因素。本研究收集了ASCII格式的WAVEWATCH III后报数据,并基于该模型的参数计算海面处的斯托克斯漂流。随后将计算得到的斯托克斯漂流数据存储为netCDF格式文件,以提升该数据集对科学界的可获取性。本研究所用的WAVEWATCH III后报输出数据来源于美国国家海洋和大气管理局(NOAA)国家气象局环境模拟中心(http://polar.ncep.noaa.gov/waves/viewer.shtml?-multi_1-gmex-)。
