The practice extends beyond basic configuration to include segmentation for scalability and security, static routing for interconnectivity, and performance evaluation under simulated congestion conditions. By combining theoretical principles from the OSI and TCP/IP models with practical implementation, students will be able to critically evaluate the relationship between network design choices and measurable performance indicators such as delay, throughput, and packet loss.
