Expression data from differentiated murine 3T3-L1 pre-adipocytes treated with alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and delta-6-desaturase (D6D) inhibitor

The goal of this study was to investigate the individual and combined effects of alpha-linolenic acid (the essential omega-3 fatty acid) and an inhibitor of the delta-6 desaturse (SC-26196) during adipocye differentiation. 12 total samples were analyzed. Differential expression analysis was conducted in R with limma, where the following treated samples were compared: control vs ALA, control vs d6d inhibitor, and ALA vs ALA+d6d inhibitor. In each comparison, linear models were fitted with weighted least squares for each transcript cluster. Transcript clusters were ranked through log-odds ratios and un-adjusted p-values with eBayes and topTable with p < 0.01 considered statistically significant.
